Essential Yoga

Essential Yoga explores the fundamentals of a yoga practice, including proper alignment, skillful pose selection, and sequencing, as well as breath, mindfulness, meditation, and relaxation practices.

Learn to build a sustainable, well-rounded yoga practice. Develop self-awareness and self-confidence while you refine your practice. This class is good for those seeking a practice for general health, wellness, or cross-training.

Wake-up Yoga

An energizing morning yoga asana class that explores optimal alignment and execution of a variety of foundational yoga poses based on primary movement patterns useful for the rest of life. Each session includes a warming entrance, skillfully sequenced middle and calming conclusion.

This class provides a foundational introduction to postural yoga or a well-rounded practice for those looking for general health, wellness, or cross-training benefits. All are welcome.

Move and Meditate

Take this time to truly take care of yourself. We begin with an easy yoga movement sequence preparing the body for mindful rest. We will explore various meditation studies, including Yoga Nidra, Mindfulness, and Metta (loving-kindness meditation).

During the second half of the class, we will explore various forms of meditation. Our main focus will be Yoga Nidra which translates to “yoga sleep.” It is a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping, like the “going-to-sleep” or hypnagogic stage, assisted by a gentle guided meditation. In Yoga Nidra, you are fully conscious while in a deeply relaxed state.

Expect Yoga Nidra in the 1st and 3rd weeks and meditation studies in the 2nd and 4th weeks.

Deep Stretch Yoga

Deep stretch focuses on the connective tissues and fascia in the body by holding poses for up to 5 minutes. Each pose connects with the breath by allowing the stillness of the body to focus on the breath. The movements are gentle and avoid weight on the knees and wrists if needed.

This is a great class for first-time yoga students. No previous yoga experience or flexibility is required. Come with an open mind and discover a new you. All are welcome.

Hatha Flow Express

Come stretch, improve balance, and unwind from your day while discovering your inner and outer strength. Within INVIVO Wellness’ Hatha Flow yoga practice, explore the stability and alignment of static yoga asanas (poses) while we blend them with breath-connected flowing sequences.

The difference between Hatha and Vinyasa yoga is the pace and purpose of the practice. Hatha yoga is designed to align and calm your mind, body, and spirit. Vinyasa Flow repeats a series of poses that often involve increasing body heat and building strength. Together it’s an amazing combination.

This Hatha Flow Express class is 45 minutes.

Wind-down Yoga

Yoga for Stiff Bodies

Are you a runner, weekend warrior, cyclist, or someone in Milwaukee who struggles to touch your toes? Join us for an accessible yoga class that is dedicated to movements and postures that target low back, hips, quads, hamstrings, back, neck and shoulders.

Using the wall, floor, and multiple props, we will open and stretch tight muscles. Discover how to rejuvenate your joints, reduce the aches and pains of daily life, and explore self-care recovery skills.

All are welcome. This is a great class for first-time yoga students. No previous yoga experience or flexibility is required. Come with an open mind and discover a new you.

When this class meets in person, the first week of each month’s practice is Chair Yoga. Experience a self-care practice of flowing yoga movements and breathing techniques – all from the comfort of a chair!

Mindful Flow Yoga

This class includes an equal blend of warm-ups, postures, breath techniques, meditation, and deep relaxation. The focus in the postures will be alignment, encouraging students to completely embody their practice from head to toe in present-moment awareness.

By integrating the subtle and physical systems of the body, mind, and breath, the practice promotes well-being and encourages students to seek balance both on and off the mat.

Yin & Yoga Nidra

A quietly powerful practice for deep release of physical and mental tensions. Class begins with a series of seated Yin Yoga poses with a focus on relaxing the muscles in order to gain deeper access to the joints and connective tissues. Our Yin practice focuses on increasing flexibility and range of motion, strengthening the joints and connective tissues, and decreasing deeply held physical tension.

Relax and refocus. We close with the practice of Yoga Nidra, a systematic process of deeply relaxing the mind. The benefits of Yoga Nidra can include reduced stress, improved sleep, and an overall sense of well-being.

Practice is appropriate for all levels of practice, including beginners.

Yoga Basics – Free Community Yoga

Do you want to try yoga? Join us for a community-based FREE yoga class. Come to learn, play, and move in a supportive, welcoming environment. We focus on developing clear and safe alignment in foundational yoga poses.

All bodies are welcome. No experience is necessary.

Taught by a rotation of highly-skilled and experienced yoga instructors, each teacher brings something unique to the practice.

We supply mat and props. If you prefer, bring your own yoga mat and props, a towel, and a full water bottle.

FITNESS CLASSES

Lower Body Strength

Give your legs and glutes an improved level of strength, tone, and muscular endurance. We will squat, lunge, hinge, raise, balance, and more using functional equipment, body weight, and physical weights.

Challenge and assess your current level of strength and endurance. This class is your core, legs, and butt day.

We will be safe on your joints. Moves can be modified to your needs. Work at your own pace. Suitable for everybody. All are welcome.

Upper Body Strength

Give your back, shoulders, and arms an improved level of strength, tone, and muscular endurance. We will lift, push, pull, rotate, and more using functional equipment, body weight, and physical weights.

Challenge and assess your current level of strength and endurance. We will be safe on your joints. Moves can be modified to your needs. Work at your own pace. Suitable for everybody. This class is your core, arms, chest and back day.

TRX Plus

Let’s get functionally fit. This 30-minute class will guide you through a workout by introducing the 7 foundational movements: Plank, Pull, Hinge, Push, Rotate, Squat and Lunge.

Using TRX suspension equipment, steel mace, body weight and gravity. We will focus on technique, transitions, and progressions. Develop core strength, improve balance, and gain strength and confidence during this full-body workout.

Work at your own pace and earn your progressions. All are welcome.

Intro TRX

Want a different kind of workout? This 30-minute class will guide you through a TRX workout by introducing the 7 foundational movements: Plank, Pull, Hinge, Push, Rotate, Squat and Lunge.

Using suspension equipment that uses your own body weight and gravity, this class focuses on technique, transitions, and progressions. Develop core strength, improve balance, and gain strength and confidence during this full-body workout.

Every Day Strength

S3P2Rint training for everyday and beyond! Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) require us to sit-stand-step-push-pull-rotate-and integrate. We’ll use weights, bands, our bodies (and more!) to make ourselves gym and every day strong! Each session offers a total body challenge that stands alone and that you can track over time to watch your strength and skills grow. Learn the how’s and why’s THESE specific exercises will make you fitter and stronger.

SpeedFit Circuits

Join us on our Speedfit equipment for a full-body circuit workout using High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) as well as TRX suspension training systems. Each person will have their own station of equipment – dumbbells, steel mace, bands and more.

We will work through sequences that will challenge your neuromuscular system, engage the core, test and increase your balance and agility.

More Core

The foundation for all body movements starts from your core. Having a healthy, strong, and stable core helps you maintain good posture, protects your spine and low back from injury as well as improves your balance.

In a 30-minutes circuit class, you will strengthen your core muscles using a functional approach mixed with bursts of different types of cardio movements.

How do I register for a class?

We are excited to welcome you to INVIVO Wellness. Here are some tips to make your visit as easy as possible.
1. Create a MindBody account with us. This will help you register for classes with ease.
Note: you will be asked to sign a waiver in order to participate in classes.
2. With your own MindBody account, you are able to enter your payment information and select an individual class or class packages.
3. Register for classes. Use the MindBody app or register on our website.
4. When attending a class, you will be checked in by your instructor.

How do I early cancel a class registration?

What should I wear or bring?

YOGA
Please bring your own mat, water bottle sweat towel, an open mind and a friend.

ATTIRE
Dress in loose comfortable clothing. 
The standards include shirts, shorts, sweatpants, and athletic shoes. Street shoes are not permitted in the STUDIO or GYM/Fitness Center.

Bare feet are allowed only in the STUDIO and locker room. The use of shower sandals in the sauna and locker room is recommended.

 

Self-Locking Lockers

No need to bring a lock, our lockers are self locking. 

Press C, then any 4 digit code, then press the key symbol. Remember your locker number. To unlock, follow the same code procedure.

Lockers are provided on a “per use” basis and must be emptied after each visit. Any items remaining in the lockers at closing will be moved to the Lost and Found to be claimed.

During the winter season, bulkier coats should be stored on the coat racks and boot trays provided.

 

Classes vs. Memberships

INVIVO offers single visit (drop-in) price options, class packages and Memberships.

Mats & Props

Yoga Classes:
INVIVO supplies mats, bolsters, blanket and straps. You are always welcome to bring your own items.

Fitness Classes:
INVIVO supplies mats and equipment for each participant. Some equipment may be shared.

Each person is responsible to clean and return equipment to its proper storage location.

Cell Phone Usage

Please silence your phone when you arrive.

Please use lobby areas to make and receive cell phone calls. Cell phone use is prohibited in the locker rooms.

Photography and videography are strictly prohibited in INVIVO Wellness unless the Wellness Director has granted authorization.

We are located at 2060 N. Humboldt Ave., Ste 300, Milwaukee, WI 53212 just north of downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin. MAP

Our facility is situated on the east side of the Humboldt Blvd. bridge. Exit mid-bridge spur to find free street or garage parking under the building.

From the West: Take Commerce St. straight to Riverboat Rd. which runs under the Humboldt Blvd. bridge.

INVIVO Wellness is the entire 3rd floor of the building. Please take the elevator or the stairs. Note: elevator access is only during working hours.
