This past year one of our dear colleagues, Heather Kaster, Massage Therapist for over 15 years at INVIVO Wellness, developed a rare, genetic lung disease – Lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM). LAM is a rare, cystic lung disease that primarily affects young women. LAM is so rare that it’s unknown how often it really occurs but during a three-year study by researchers, fewer than 250 people with LAM were identified in the U.S.
This led to her departure from INVIVO at the end of March 2022. Since her departure, she has been in and out of the hospital. Her doctors have been working diligently to keep her lungs functioning. Heather’s journey is far from over.
We are sharing her story because as a member of our wellness community you value the many blessings and benefits of having a healthy body.
