Mental Wellness treatment approach that centers on YOU!

  • Comprehensive mental health care for people ages 18+ of all genders
  • Treating mental health disorders including anxiety, depression, trauma (physical, emotional, sexual), life transitions, relationship issues, and lifestyle changes.
  • Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). Mindfulness is an evidence-based intervention for reducing depression, anxiety, and pain. MBCT combines talk therapy with the practice of focusing on the physical sensations of emotions. MBCT is an effective tool for helping clients build coping skills and learn to regulate their emotions.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) focuses on helping clients change unhelpful thinking patterns that may be impeding their goals and desired lifestyle changes. CBT is also effective for identifying and utilizing a client’s strengths to help them maximize their potential.
  • For some clients, Amy utilizes Brainspotting, a focused mindfulness technique that uses specific eye positions to tap into the body’s own healing abilities.

We will develop a personalized plan for treatment and care.

About Amy Geyser, MS, LPC

Amy Geyser has been practicing psychotherapy in Milwaukee since 2017. She holds a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Theatre Arts from Carroll College, with a minor in Psychology. She has completed over 70 hours of intensive training in the Brainspotting technique.

In addition to private practice, Amy serves as a mental health professional for Camp Kesem, a summer camp for youth whose lives have been affected by a parent’s cancer.

Before opening her private practice in 2018, she gained valuable training and experience at Aurora Healing Center, which provides free counseling and group therapy to adult survivors of sexual trauma.

In addition to being a therapist, she has a background in professional theatre. Her work as an actor led her to Feast of Crispian, an organization that uses Shakespeare and acting techniques to help military veterans strengthen emotional resources to overcome trauma. Amy is enormously grateful for this work that so perfectly blends her identities as a theatre artist and mental health professional.

If you determine Amy’s services are not the right fit for your needs, she will offer some referrals to other clinicians in the area whose specialties are aligned with your needs.
